Cambodia's Five-Year-Old Children Vaccination Against Covid-19 Surpasses 50%

Phnom Penh: Just within five days of Cambodia's vaccination against Covid-19 for five-year-old children, half of the target population has already been inoculated.

As of Friday, the Ministry of Health has reported 51.80% vaccinated of this age group. The vaccination for five-year-old children started on Monday, presided by Prime Minister Hun Sen, coinciding with the closing ceremony for the first dose vaccination.

Meanwhile, the Royal Government's vaccination for adults and six to 11-years-old age group have already exceeded the target. The health ministry has recorded 100.30% vaccinated for the adult population while 102.69% for those with ages 6-11. For the age group 12-17, although getting slower, but the number is not far from the target. The vaccination percentage is now at 98.21%.

Overall, out of the total population of 16 million in the Kingdom of Cambodia, 87.06% is already vaccinated against Covid-19.
